More Than 100 Kids Receive New Helmets Through Lids4Kids Campaign

Thanks to all of you who participated in our 2014 Lids4Kids Campaign! The campaign, in partnership with the Epilepsy Foundation of East Tennessee, was designed to promote bicycle safety. Students from Mt. Olive and New Hopewell Elementary Schools were challenged to create posters about the importance of wearing bicycle helmets. We featured the best projects on our Facebook page and let you vote for your favorites.

The overall winner was Emma, a third grader from New Hopewell Elementary. Thanks to her hard work and creativity, all the students who participated in the contest were awarded new bicycle helmets from The Lawyers of Brown & Roberto – just in time for summer! The kids from Mt. Olive did such a great job, that we decided to give them new helmets as well.

Our team visited both schools last week to congratulate the winners, talk to the kids about the importance of protecting their heads, and fit them with new helmets. All in all, The Lawyers of Brown & Roberto gave away more than 100 helmets to kids in the six classes that participated in the contest. “The Lids4Kids project represents just a small part of our commitment to our community,” said Andrew Roberto, a partner at the firm. “Most people don’t realize that head trauma is a leading cause – and a preventable one – of new cases of epilepsy. We’re happy to work with the Epilepsy Foundation to get that message out and provide helmets to kids who need them.”

In addition to the Epilepsy Foundation, the firm also partners with The Salvation Army and the Tennessee Veterans Business Association as part of its Community Matters initiative.
